Job Description	General Dynamics C4 Systems' Battle Management Systems Division designs, develops, and integrates highly sophisticated command, control, and communications systems for the U.S. military, federal agencies, civil governments and related international customers. These state-of-the-art, integrated systems combine advanced visualization software and multi-sensor inputs to provide near real-time situational awareness to tactical decision makers. Our engineers help transform large amounts of complex data into useful information that is clearly and intuitively presented to end users, enabling them to make better-informed decisions. We design and develop systems and software for a wide range of global missions including: battle command; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; airspace management; crisis and emergency management; peace keeping and contingency operations; drug intervention, and public safety. We are looking for a senior developer with a strong background in Java to participate in all phases of development of large-scale solutions based on the CoMotion collaboration and visualization toolkit. The role includes the derivation and definition of high and low level system requirements, system design, implementation, and software and test support during the software and test phase of the project. Candidate is expected to work with interdisciplinary teams to develop user-centric solutions. Qualifications: -- B.S. in Computer Science or a related field -- 7+ years relevant work experience -- 5+ years development experience with Java General Skills: -- demonstrated pattern of continuous learning -- capable of working with little or no supervision -- possesses excellent communication skills and be capable of presenting technical concepts in easy to understand terms to large audiences -- appreciation for user-centric design -- attention to quality Specific Skills: -- expertise in object-oriented programming -- experience building large-scale, mission-critical, applications -- experience with distributed systems and service oriented architectures -- experience building multithreaded systems -- strong computer science theory background (e.g., data structures, algorithms, computational complexity) Must be able to travel 20% of the time. Applicant must be capable of obtaining a U.S. security clearance. Applicant must be a US Citizen.
