Job Description	General Dynamics C4 Systems' Battle Management Systems Division designs, develops, and integrates highly sophisticated command, control, and communications systems for the U.S. military, federal agencies, civil governments and related international customers. These state-of-the-art, integrated systems combine advanced visualization software and multi-sensor inputs to provide near real-time situational awareness to tactical decision makers. Our engineers help transform large amounts of complex data into useful information that is clearly and intuitively presented to end users, enabling them to make better-informed decisions. We design and develop systems and software for a wide range of global missions including: battle command; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; airspace management; crisis and emergency management; peace keeping and contingency operations; drug intervention, and public safety. Senior Test Engineer responsible for providing planning, management, and engineering support for Huntsville based Systems Integration & Test This position includes all aspects of test engineering including planning and technical contributions to the overall development process plus team management. Responsibilities include: • Design test methodologies for SOA based software systems • Design, develop and implement cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems including test automation • Prepare, release and maintain test specifications, procedures and diagnostic programs for new products and capabilities that include stress testing (Capacity, Latency, etc) criteria • Lead teams in identification of innovative decisions to continuously improve team and project performance • Present project progress/results to management and customers • Apply knowledge of advanced command and control software based systems testing and recommend/implement appropriate courses of action • Demonstrate use of influence skills to obtain management level support of initiatives to meet objectives • Lead team or project members to define team roles and responsibilities • Utilize planning and execution skills in support of projects and teams • Prepare and manage schedules, cost estimating, and budgets • Lead the integration and verification of interface, functional, and performance test requirements, to include comprehensive system level tests Candidate must be a US Citizen. Candidate must be able to travel 20% of the time. Engineering Degree (BSEE with MSEE preferred) with a minimum of 10 years test engineering experience including troubleshooting, failure investigation, data review and corrective action planning and troubleshooting software based systems. This is a senior position and requires: • Working knowledge of standard software development and maintenance processes • Extensive understanding of Test Engineering, especially in the area of system of systems integration and test • Involvement in the identification and/or development of breakaway technologies • Ability to manage a risk profile and design effective mitigation strategies • Taking responsibility for the technical issues that affect the team including defining the trade space for the team • Regular communications with senior members of internal team, management and customers • Ability to write reports and presentations • Formulation and presentation of new concepts to gain buy in for new test methodologies Desirable experience/knowledge also includes: SOA based web-services systems testing, PC applications in an MS Windows environment, Rational tools to include ClearCase and ClearQuest. Also knowledge of DOORS and/or ReqPro requirements database. Candidate must be a US Citizen capable of obtaining a US Security Clearance. Must be able to travel 20% of the time. Secret level U.S. DoD security clearance, and U.S. Citizenship is required.
