Job Description	General Dynamics C4 Systems' Battle Management Systems Division designs, develops, and integrates highly sophisticated command, control, and communications systems for the U.S. military, federal agencies, civil governments and related international customers. These state-of-the-art, integrated systems combine advanced visualization software and multi-sensor inputs to provide near real-time situational awareness to tactical decision makers. Our engineers help transform large amounts of complex data into useful information that is clearly and intuitively presented to end users, enabling them to make better-informed decisions. We design and develop systems and software for a wide range of global missions including: battle command; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; airspace management; crisis and emergency management; peace keeping and contingency operations; drug intervention, and public safety. This position is for a software systems engineer with experience developing and building large, complex systems, who will participate in software intensive projects with interdisciplinary, local and remote teams, and who can apply the appropriate standards and software-engineering processes and tools to meet the needs of program. Skills that are needed include the ability to: manage remote teams, perform earned value, technical oversight of SW development, and provide customer interface for subcontractors, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, mathematical analysis, and technical project management. In addition, the candidate may be required to perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into software specifications. BS Degree in software engineering +9 years of demonstrated results, or equivalent experience. All candidates should have experience in the following areas: • Experience in the use of Java, Windows OS, Linux OS, XML, JUnit • Experience in leading small to medium size development teams • Experience in Earned Value management of SW development efforts • Understanding of service oriented/based architectures, OO design/programming • Experience using Rational ClearCase and ClearQuest is a plus • Experience using Rational Software Architect is a plus • Experience with Human Centered Design and HCI development is a plus • Software architecture development, software application design implementation, and test of software using state-of-the-art technologies, methodologies, and development environments. • Experience using Telelogic's DOORs is a plus • Excellent oral/written communication skills, and interpersonal skills to support interaction with customer representatives, subcontractor teams, internal team members, and internal management. • Ability to work in a fast paced / dynamic team environment and possess time management skills to meet schedules. Must be able to travel 20% of the time. Applicant must be capable of obtaining a U.S. security clearance. Applicant must be a US Citizen. Applicant must be able to pass an extended background investigation (EBI) for this position.
