Job Description	General Dynamics C4 Systems' Battle Management Systems Division designs, develops, and integrates highly sophisticated command, control, and communications systems for the U.S. military, federal agencies, civil governments and related international customers. These state-of-the-art, integrated systems combine advanced visualization software and multi-sensor inputs to provide near real-time situational awareness to tactical decision makers. Our engineers help transform large amounts of complex data into useful information that is clearly and intuitively presented to end users, enabling them to make better-informed decisions. We design and develop systems and software for a wide range of global missions including: battle command; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; airspace management; crisis and emergency management; peace keeping and contingency operations; drug intervention, and public safety. Our systems transform large amounts of complex data into useful information that is clearly and intuitively presented to the operators, enabling commanders to make informed decisions in real-time. We build systems for a wide range of global missions including wartime battlefield management, crisis management, peacekeeping and contingency operations, drug intervention, and public safety. The technical publications developer position is located at the General Dynamics facility in Scottsdale, AZ. The Senior Technical Writer develops and edits documents, including technical documents, functional descriptions, system specifications, user manuals, special reports, or any other customer deliverables to ensure clarity of content, consistency of format, accuracy of grammar, and compliance with current Industry and Government practices. Works independently. Applies working knowledge of technical literature and various style guides, including customer specifications, to documentation and publication standards. Participates in developing and maintaining technical manuals. Assists in validation/verification, discrepancies/deficiencies resolution, and accuracy/adequacy assessment of technical manual requirements. BS, BA, BFA in advertising design, illustration, art, journalism, communications, engineering, or computer science, or equivalent in education/experience 6+ years in directly related experience. Experience in developing Maintenance Allocation Charts (MACs) and Repair Parts and Special Tools Lists (RPSTLs). Adobe FrameMaker desktop publishing experience and MIL-STD-40051 knowledge preferred. Ability to apply analytical skills Knowledge of data collection/synthesis skills Demonstrate strong judgmental skills Prioritizing skills Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously Able to demonstrate adaptability and flexibility Ability to be responsive Self motivated Top Secret clearance required. Experience on Prophet program desired. Demonstrate a basic knowledge of technical illustrator conventions and processes. Exhibit a strong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products. Must be able to travel 20% of the time. Secret level U.S. DoD security clearance, and U.S. Citizenship is required. Applicant must be able to pass an extended background investigation (EBI) for this position.
