General Dynamics C4 Systems' Battle Management Systems Division designs, develops, and integrates highly sophisticated command, control, and communications systems for the U.S. military, federal agencies, civil governments and related international customers. These state-of-the-art, integrated systems combine advanced visualization software and multi-sensor inputs to provide near real-time situational awareness to tactical decision makers. Our engineers help transform large amounts of complex data into useful information that is clearly and intuitively presented to end users, enabling them to make better-informed decisions. We design and develop systems and software for a wide range of global missions including: battle command; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; airspace management; crisis and emergency management; peace keeping and contingency operations; drug intervention, and public safety.
This position is for a software developer that can support the development of large, complex systems. Successful applicants for this position will support new feature development and quality improvements to existing projects, help create project requirements, and provide input to design decisions. Responsibilities include: Research, designs, and development of computer software systems applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. The successful candidate must be comfortable in all phases of the software lifecycle including Systems, Software and Integration/Test. Skills that are needed include: plans, designs, develop and tests software or applications for software enhancements and new products. In this role you will develop, maintain, and document software to be applied to engineering and scientific requirements.
BS Degree in software engineering +7 years of demonstrated results, or equivalent experience, is preferred. Advanced degree recommended. All candidates must have experience with software architecture development, software application design, implementation, and test of software using state-of-the-art technologies, methodologies, and development environments. Has demonstrated strengths and experience in the following areas: • Experienced in the use of C#, AJAX, Relational Database development and MS Windows development. Experience with Windows Administration, Multi-threaded applications, sockets – TCP/IP, OO Javascript, GIS, distributed systems, cross-browser development, Flash a plus. Understanding of service oriented/based architectures, OO design/programming is a plus. • Ability to conduct Requirements Analysis and develop System level derived requirements and development of system requirements and design products such as Software Requirements Specifications (SRS), Interface Requirements Specifications (IRS), System Design Document (SDD), Interface Control Document (ICD), and Interface Design Document (IDD) • Conduct System functional analysis including trade studies and white paper analysis as needed • Support to the development team and integration team for software, test and integration challenges. • Experienced using Telelogic's DOORs, the Rational tools Requisite Pro, Rhapsody, Subversion, ClearCase and ClearQuest a plus. Candidates must have demonstrated an ability to work in a fast paced / dynamic team environment and possess time management skills to meet schedules.
Must be able to travel 20% of the time.
Secret level U.S. DoD security clearance, and U.S. Citizenship is required.
