| Job Description |
General Dynamics C4 Systems' Battle Management Systems Division designs, develops, and integrates highly sophisticated command, control, and communications systems for the U.S. military, federal agencies, civil governments and related international customers. These state-of-the-art, integrated systems combine advanced visualization software and multi-sensor inputs to provide near real-time situational awareness to tactical decision makers. Our engineers help transform large amounts of complex data into useful information that is clearly and intuitively presented to end users, enabling them to make better-informed decisions. We design and develop systems and software for a wide range of global missions including: battle command; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; airspace management; crisis and emergency management; peace keeping and contingency operations; drug intervention, and public safety.
The PAL LNO will engage with the chosen active duty unit (3 ACR) where he/she will focus on that (and only that) unit for all aspects of training, coordination with the unit, advising of the unit as well as the design team, teaming with the design team on design of exercises, datasets and vignettes.
Duties include:
• Provide training to the unit on PAL, and potentially CPOF if needed
• Act as a liaison between the design/development teams while co-located with the unit
• Document and track progress of unit support requests
• Translate the unit’s deployed experiences into development requirements and/or standard operating procedures
• Coordinate availability of the unit for planning and scheduling events necessary to further the understanding of PAL
• Conduct root cause analysis
• Attend all events with the unit and design/development teams pertaining to PAL
• Attend PAL design sessions in Pittsburgh, PA as required
• Accompany the 3 ACR on the NTC rotation
• Maintain the emerging 3 ACR PAL library
Must be capable of passing a military physical for deployment to a State Department declared Contingency or Combat Zone to include having a Body Mass Index (BMI) rating less than 40%. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in an engineering or related technical field or the equivalent experience is required.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Technology Degree or Bachelor's Degree in an engineering support discipline (e.g., Management, Accounting) and a minimum of five (5) years of progressively more responsible directly related engineering support experience, or have equivalent experience.
Specific Knowledge
Experience:
• Military experience with BDE/Regiment or above
• CPOF experience is highly desirable
Desired areas of hands-on experience:
• CPOF, TIGR
Skills:
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapid-development environment.
• Ability to train 1-on-1, classroom, small-group
• Able to decompose complex concepts to simple steps or concepts
• Ability to understand and apply advanced technical concepts
• Ability to be comfortable in uncertain conditions; technology is evolving and system
behavior could be unpredictable
• Established level of comfort communicating with a design/development team
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
• Must be a team player
Additional Requirements Job will require deployment to OIF and OEF. Top Secret clearance with access to SCI data is a definite plus •Willingness and ability to travel 50% of the time to support job requirements. Secret level U.S. DoD security clearance is required.
Must be able to travel 20% of the time.
Secret level U.S. DoD security clearance, and U.S. Citizenship is required.
