Job Description	General Dynamics C4 Systems provides its government and commercial customers around the globe with integrated network and communication solutions for mission critical applications including satellite communication, satellite operations, network systems and information services, blue force tracking, homeland security, detection, surveillance, intelligence, and emergency response. Senior technical contributor with demonstrated design skills; is assigned more difficult technical problems within software engineering. Plans, designs, develops and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products. Researches, designs, and develops computer software systems, in conjunction with hardware product development, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Designs, develops, operates, maintains, and documents software to be applied to engineering, scientific, and manufacturing requirements. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of technical engineering products. Expands knowledge in domain of expertise. Plans and executes moderate sized projects. Role model. Skilled at executing complex tasks. Bridges communication across the team. Mentors less experienced engineers. Participates in development of technical strategies and teaming strategies on project. Leads small technical proposals and contributes to medium sized proposals. Advocates continuous process improvement. Leads medium sized continuous process improvement efforts. Expanded contact to include program management, manufacturing, quality assurance, etc. Frequent contact with senior management both internal and external. Frequent contact with business development functions. Very knowledgeable of technical capabilities of others within the department and able to form and lead them in a team environment. BS Degree in software engineering + 8 years of demonstrated results, or equivalent experience. Advanced Degree recommended. Support the White Sands Complex (WSC) software efforts. Possess a solid knowledge of ADA programming skills and VMS operating system. Satellite commanding and telemetry software experience a plus. Provide troubleshooting skills to investigate and provide solutions for WSC software discrepancies. Possess strong background knowledge of software engineering processes and software life cycles. Support the WSC CMMI and ISO policies and standards. Able to work well with other team members. Must be able to travel 20% of the time. Secret level U.S. DoD security clearance, and U.S. Citizenship is required. Applicant must be able to pass an extended background investigation (EBI) for this position.
