Job Description	General Dynamics C4 Systems in Columbia, Maryland provides critical products for its customers in several key areas including; command and control; intelligence; military weapons testing; remote control switches, and air traffic control communication systems. Our switch products are revolutionizing the ability of end users to quickly set up the networks needed to provide ground-to-ground and ground-to-air communications. Using standard and non-standard telephony and data interfaces, our engineers integrate solutions that allow communication over a wide variety of devices and also allow control of assets from a safe location far removed from the radio site. Our switch networks also can be quickly reconfigured to meet the needs of a quickly changing test network. Technology developed in this location includes: touch entry displays, database management and harsh environment audio technology. This position is for a senior technical leader with demonstrated systems engineering design and leadership skills to work difficult technical problems in the area of communication systems. The responsibilities of this position include: requirements and architecture development, system integration, verification and validation to yield production products. The duties include: technical planning, requirements analysis, trade studies, cost and risk, and supportability analyses to convert customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Other duties include team leadership and participation in the management of cross-functional team resources. The ability to work within a formal development process, a desire to work with new technologies and the ability to lead communication system development projects is required. BS Degree in a technical field related to systems engineering and must have 10+ years of demonstrated results in communications systems and networks. Advanced degree recommended. Experience with IP Networking, Voice over IP (H.323, SIP), Voice Switching Systems, H.100, ISA, PCI and advanced buss and switch fabric architectures is needed. Additional areas of knowledge and experience applicable to position include: object oriented software development, application, adaptation, and augmentation of Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) products to meet Government system requirements; network, and radio equipment, including US military communications and/or commercial waveforms and air interfaces; network modeling; network availability modeling. Applicant must be capable of obtaining a US Security Clearance.Applicant must be a US Citizen. Must be able to travel 20% of the time. Applicant must be capable of obtaining a U.S. security clearance. Applicant must be a US Citizen.
