As a member of an established Engineering Process Group the candidate will work directly with project managers and task leaders to facilitate process understanding and adherence to the standard process. This position requires hands-on experience working as an engineer and/or manager in a product development organization and experience applying the CMMI to improve engineering processes. The candidate should have knowledge of project management methodologies, system development practices, testing methodologies and product lifecycles. Specific responsibilities include: ­- Work on initiatives to promote engineering process improvement ­- Contribute to the improvement and rollout of standard engineering processes for project management, systems, software, and hardware engineering ­- Deliver training in standard processes ­- Develop new course material and written material as required to support deployment of project management and engineering practices. Education: BS in Engineering (Systems, Software, ME or EE) or Computer Science. Experience: Minimum seven years product development experience in an engineering organization (software, systems or hardware). Three or more years experience with CMMI based process improvement initiatives. Additional Requirements: Proficiency in using MicroSoft Office products; Interpersonal skills; writing skills; presentation skills. Must be able to travel 20% of the time. Applicant must be capable of obtaining a U.S. security clearance. Applicant must be a US Citizen. Applicant must be able to pass an extended background investigation (EBI) for this position.
