Job Description General Dynamics Mission Systems, a market leader and technology innovator, is seeking talented professionals to deliver cutting edge solutions to our customers.

GDC4S is looking for a software engineer to join a highly-skilled team working on projects in the Waveform Technology team in Sunrise, Florida. If you are interested in developing software for the latest warfighter radios - that saves lives - then this is the job for you.

This position involves working within varying-sized development teams to design, implement, unit test and integrate operating environment (OE) infrastructure as well as waveform functionality. In addition, it may include maintenance, test and diagnostic work.

The development process is highly structured and in some projects utilizes an agile development framework. Currently we use Scrum methodology as an iterative and incremental approach to our waveform development.

We use a wide range of development tools which includes: Requirements definition using a Use Case based methodology; design using Rational Unified Process (RUP) and the Unified Modeling Language (UML); programming experience in C and C++; and the following IBM engineering tools: DOORS, ReqPro, RoseRT, Rose, ClearCase and ClearQuest. Experience with some of these would be useful – but we can help you to learn how to use tools that are unfamiliar.

Exposure to real-time operating systems such as Green Hills Integrity or Wind River VxWorks and to tools such as MULTI would be valuable. Any exposure to application or kernel-level programming in an RTOS environment using C/C++/Java would be great.

If you have worked with Android OS, Java, Python or Web Services that would be an added bonus – we are starting to see an increasing need to add tools like these to our development efforts.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, a related technical field, or the equivalent experience is required. In addition, a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.

Must be able to travel 20% of the time.
Applicant must be a US Citizen.
This position requires ability to obtain a clearance.

Must have good communications skills to interface with engineers, technicians, contractors, vendors and external departments.
