The candidate will be assigned to support the implementation of the WIN-T for Army Units both at home and abroad.  Individual will be responsible for the comprehensive support of the system to include installation, operation, management, and maintenance of the STT/UHST assemblages and associated equipment.  Candidate must possess a strong grasp of satellite communications operational theory.  Individual will also work with GDC4S in-house engineering to resolve problems encountered in the field and provide enhancements required by the customer.  Perform complex technical evaluation and resolve critical technical problems on fielded WIN-T systems.  Implement test plans and procedures in accordance with contract requirements for the verification of deliverable systems.  Represent GD at program and customer reviews. Candidate is responsible for the configuration and maintenance of UHST/MRT servers.  Candidate must understand Joint Task Force operations including tactical as well as commercial telecommunications and data interfaces to include signaling protocols and interface standards. Serve as the subject matter expert working with the tactical customer to accomplish initial installation, configuration and reconfiguration of all equipment as the communications environment evolves.  Frequently interface with military and civilian personnel of all ranks. Be able to apply appropriate portable test equipment such as BER testers, DMM, Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzers and others to the equipment/network under investigation.

The candidate must possess the knowledge to operate and configure the following equipment to include, but not limited to:
Antenna controller, satellite acquisition
HPA/TWT, LNA/LNB - Low Noise
Fiber/Coax/Ethernet Cable Work
FDMA/TDMA modems (satellite modems)
Up-converters, down-converters

Duties and Tasks
Performs field activities associated with installing, maintaining, integrating, troubleshooting, testing and servicing of fielded systems/products at customer sites
Diagnoses and repairs mechanical, hardware, software and systems failures using established procedures and submits reports on system reliability metrics to technical/regional
support centers
Sets up and utilizes specialized test and diagnostic equipment to isolate malfunctions
Works closely with design engineering in evaluating product performance and conducting field trials
Conducts start-up, cutover and checkout activities on newly installed systems
Conducts site and equipment inspections in order to perform preventative and corrective maintenance
Works with more senior Field Support Reps to plan and emplace system configuration to meet specific mission requirements
Conducts technical seminars and training for customer or company personnel, informal on the job training for other field service staff members and customers, and over-theshoulder/
refresher training to users in the field as required
Maintains complete and accurate logs, documentation of all work orders, spare part inventories and other reports as necessary
May perform repair, retro fit, and scheduled maintenance to military grade Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) and Environmental Control Units (ECUs)
May maintain military vehicles and update vehicle maintenance documentation

Customers, Military Personnel, Government dignitaries, External consultants/experts, technical staff, employees and managers across the company

Works under general supervision
Security Clearance may be required; may require TS/SCI clearance based on program assignment
Travel required more than 50% of the time
May deploy and operate with US Forces to CONUS or OCONUS field locations, including combat operations
Typically handles moderately complex products and/or problems, receiving direction from higher level Field Support Representatives or Engineers on more complex

Education and Experience
Minimum of 25 weeks of military technical training school, along with an additional four years of related experience is required.
Two years of directly related non-military technical trade school or the equivalent experience, along with an additional four years of related experience is required.
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or the equivalent experience is required.
Industry certifications are highly preferred

Must be able to travel 50% of the time.
This position requires operation of motorized vehicle.
This position requires the operation of a company or customer-owned motorized vehicle.
Applicant must be a US Citizen.
This position requires an active US Government Secret Clearance.
