Job Description

The RF Production Supervisor works under managerial guidance to supervise the manufacture and testing of feeds, feed networks, and other related RF components and products used throughout the facility. The RF Production Supervisor follows and provides instructions obtained from production work orders, drawings, policies and procedures. The RF Production Supervisor provides training and conveys work instructions to RF Technicians and Assemblers in his department. The RF Production Supervisor supervises day-to-day and weekly production efforts and performs administrative functions relating to operation of the department.

 Essential Functions:

  • Determines work priorities based on JDE (MRP) scheduling and direction from Materials Management.
  • Ensures department production schedules are adhered to.
  • Utilizes JDE to track labor hours, perform basic product cost analysis and assists Materials Management in determining work order routings and bill of materials structure under engineering/management guidance.
  • Performs time edits as required.
  • Performs final product inspection and signs off appropriate quality documents as required.
  • Performs engineering tool and product modifications as directed by engineering/management.
  • Provides training to employees in:
    • Mechanical assembly of RF components.
    • Installation and wiring of feed deicing systems.
    • Basic RF measurements.
    • Set-up of complex RF measurements.
    • Proper usage of automated test setups (DataCoP)
    • Troubleshooting of RF measurement errors/problems.
    • Preparation of test data and reports using manual and automated test setups.
  • Performs miscellaneous tasks using hand tools, power tools and forklift.
  • Performs tasks required for lifting and moving parts and assemblies.
  • Assists in the procurement of parts and supplies as needed.
  • Orders materials and consumable supplies using purchase requisitions, corporate credit cards and cash dispersals as required.
  • Ensures work area cleanup and safety related duties.
  • May be required to travel to installations, customer offices and vendors’ premises. (Work site activity may entail troubleshooting and meetings with customers.)
  • Leads department by using SMS tools
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

  • Complies with all Company policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Works during scheduled hours.
  • Maintains quality output while meeting department production.

Experience and Education
• High school graduate or GED required, college graduate preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years RF components and measurements.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisor duties preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Must have good mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge of metric measurements.
• Advanced shop math knowledge.
• Blueprint reading knowledge.
• Basic technical writing skills and business writing.
• Skill in the use of common hand tools and basic measurement tools.
• Reading comprehension skills to understand work orders, written instructions and blueprints.
• Interpersonal skills to cooperate and work effectively with others.
• Ability to evaluate work conditions and quality of work.
• Must be familiar with microwave test equipment and its applications.
• Must be familiar with methods of antenna evaluations.
• Must be well versed in computer spreadsheet and word processing programs.

This position requires operation of motorized vehicle.
This position requires the operation of a company or customer-owned motorized vehicle.
