General Dynamics C4 Systems is a diverse and growing business. We are currently seeking UNIX Systems Administrators for the Arlington, VA based operations. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing day-to-day administration, maintenance and customer support of a Trusted Wide Area network which include installation, deployment and retirement of systems (hardware/software). Familiarity with Trusted operating systems is preferred. Strong knowledge of Sun Solaris/LINUX software/hardware is essential. UNIX command line troubleshooting (software/hardware/networking) and scripting is essential. Prior experience with U.S. government configuration standards pertaining to classified systems is required. Independently identifies tasks or projects and effectively prioritizes time to complete multiple assignments. Will frequently interact with end users/customers and work within customer spaces. Must promote, process and policy compliance, as it pertains to Enterprise systems. Must be able to adapt to changing environments and coordinate large scale implementations using available resources.

Applicant must have good verbal and written communication skills and be a team player; customer orientated with good organizational skills. Applicant is required to perform physical exertion (lifting, pulling, pushing, bending etc…) common to a normal IT data center environment. Applicant must be able to work weekends and holidays when needed. Applicant must be a US Citizen and meet DoDD 8570.1 certification requirements for IAT-II or higher. Applicant must be willing to travel in support of business needs.


Education and Experience
BSCS, BSCE, BSSoftE + 7 years of demonstrated results, or equivalent experience

Advanced degree recommended

Must be able to travel 20% of the time
Applicant must be a US Citizen.
This position requires an active US Government Top Secret Clearance with SCI and CI Polygraph

Applicants must have a "current" TS/SCI clearance with no pending adverse clearance actions. TS SCI clearances must be reflected within JPAS with a method of validation required. Applicant must meet specific SAP/SAR eligibility requirements IAW JAFAN 6/4 (Tier 1 or 2 adjudication only). Consent to Counter-Intelligence polygraph will be required. Favorable clearance and polygraph results will be required while working the contract. Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen. The selected candidate will be required to travel in support of business needs. Job assignment is located within customer spaces with daily interactions.
