Position Purpose: Performs engineering work related to configuring, deploying, maintaining, and upgrading CAD and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) applications and processes. Responsible for tasks related to the development and deployment of systems, methodologies, standards and processes that result in the ability to create and manage high fidelity digital data for Gulfstream products. Independently performs tasks defined in the project plan to ensure PLM systems integrity and manage all product configuration data and information throughout the products lifecycle. Determines user needs and defines technical contents for the development of training courses for CAD and PLM Applications. Directs team members on a daily basis regarding requirements, solutions and implementation strategy. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Essential Job Functions:1) Creates plans according to schedules, for engineering assignments, and acts independently to carry them out. 2) Responsible for engineering feasibility of CAD and PLM solutions for complex assignments or full project of minor complexity. 3) Directs activities for lower level engineering staff assigned to specific projects. 4) Interprets user needs to determine engineering and product data requirements, CAD and PLM functional requirements, perform analysis and creates action plans to implement process and data modeling to meet user needs. 5) Tailors CAD and PLM Applications functionality, to established requirements, policies and procedures. 6) Determines user needs and utilizes system queries and utilities to support users information research. 7) Directs the testing and implementation of new deployment or revisions to the CAD and PLM systems. 8) Designs and develops business reports and system status metrics. Additional Functions: 1) Provides training on new functionalities and upgrades. 2) Ensure compliance with FAA regulatory requirements for management and control of all type design data. 3) Maintains a current and up-to-date knowledge of developments in a specific discipline and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve the quality, economy, and effectiveness of the company product. 4) Other activities as assigned by CAD/PLM Specialist or Group Head. Other Requirements: 1) Must have strong interpersonal skills, self motivated, and a general understanding of engineering/manufacturing data requirements and design tools. 2) Previous experience with digital pre-assembly of product components (aerospace desirable). 3) Experience in process mapping and other process improvement techniques is desirable. 4) Requires a minimum of two (2) years configuration management experience. 5) Familiarity with computer-aided design, manufacturing and product data management systems. 6) Basic knowledge of design engineering and manufacturing engineering applications and processes. 7) Configuration management experience preferred. Unique Skills Required: Provide analysis of CATIA/ENOVIA software bugs, be able to recreate reproducible scenarios and get a solution, including escalation to the software vendor for resolution.Provide technical expertise, in conjunction with PLM architects, on complex technical issues involving system performance. This area includes database and application infrastructure tuning.Provide risk assessment analysis when upgrading to new versions of existing software or entirely new software.Ability to speak French a plusMasters degree in Engineering, Computer Science or IT preferredWorks well with minimal supervision. Past management or leadership experience preferred.In-depth CATIA/ENOVIA Rapid Application Development 9e.g. CAA0 knowledge required Experience/Education Required: - BA/BS degree in Eng, Computer Science, a related curriculum, or equivalent combination of appropriate education & exp. - Proven computer literacy that includes PC Windows environment w/specific skills in MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio & MS Project.Minimum 8 yrs Eng, or IT exp, w/at least 3 yrs database administration, data migration/conversion or related experience. - Experience w/CAD and PDM tools (CATIA and ENOVIA LCA, VPM preferred). - See Other Requirements in Job Description. |
