| Job Description |
General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS), headquartered in Sterling Heights, Michigan, is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics Corporation (NYSE: GD) headquartered in Falls Church, Virginia. GDLS provides a full spectrum of land and amphibious combat systems, subsystems, and components worldwide. The company designs and builds armored vehicles and subsystems for the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, and international customers, and is the defense industry’s largest supplier of armored military vehicles.
Function as a strategic business partner/consultant to proactively assist customers in meeting their business ojectives through effective management of human resources including but not limited to:
-Insure the equitable and consistent application of all GDLS policies and practies as well as legal requirements involving all Safety, Employee Relations, Compensation, and Employee Benefit arenas.
-Support and be a proponent for the facility teaming process
-Counsel management on all aspects of Labor Agreements.
-Investigate grievances, conduct and assist in all Employee and Labor Relations functions, activities, meetings, as well as involvment in negotiations of of new Collective Bargaining Agreements.
-Facilitate the resolurition of employee concerns including discipline, if appropriate.
-Coordinate and administer training programs.
-Recruit and hire employees and contractors for all levels of the organization and conduct new hire orientations.
-Support staffing intiatives for the organization to include internal/external candidate sourcing, affirmative action, work force utilization, applicant tracking and reporting, intern/co-op programs.
-Track and report staffing and recruiting data/metrics.
-Provide timely responses to employee requests, issues, complaints, concerns and any other inquiries received. |
| Job Requirements |
-Prefer 1 to 15 years of related Human Resources experience.
-Previous manufacturing/technical staffing experience required.
-Previous Human Resources generalist experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
-Requires strong analytical, quantitative, research, evaluation, planning, problem solving and decision making skills.
-Requires a high degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
-Must be able to travel occasionally and have willingness based on circumstances to relocate in the future.
-Must be proficient with PC applications to include various software and database applications and platforms such as MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point and Access.
-Requires excellent organizational and cummunication skills.
-Ability to work in a teaming environment.
-Occasional travel required.
-Advancement within the organization may require relocation.
-Must be able to acquireGovernment issued security clearance. |
