| Job Description |
This position is responsible for the direction, administration and organization of all Production Depts. and reports to the Plant Manager. The Production Manager establishes departmental objectives and utilizes available resources to implement programs to support the timely attainment of Divisional and Plant Objectives. Advises the Plant Manager on operating plans and schedule positions pursuant to projected production requirements.
MAJOR DUTIES OF POSITION:
1. Coordinate and direct the Production interface with support groups to initiate corrective action on tooling and fixtures for defect elimination. Direct reports by Production supervision to improve employee workmanship and product quality. Counsel subordinates on proper work techniques.
2. Develop and implement detailed monthly Production plans to insure optimum plant performance by following designated staffing assignments, providing adequate employee cross-training and following established programs.
3. Implement and maintain tracking systems to monitor and control Production manpower (i.e., man-assignments, PAA control, absenteeism, lost time).
4. Delegate responsibility to Team Advisorsand provide clear instructions in order to achieve Production objectives. Motivate employees to perform to the best of their ability and promote the teamwork philosophy, maintain discipline, high work standards and morale among all employees.
5. Promote and embrace WSA teaming environment though active employee engagement by setting expectations for team measures and recognition.
6. Organize and implement innovative plant improvements to ensure a safe and clean workplace.
7. Oversee and control departmental expenditures for productive and non-productive materials in order to meet budgeted levels.
8. Coordinate and interface with other managers relative to Divisional and Plant objectives, Production requirements and Facility operations.
9. Develop subordinates by assuring that Production personnel have access to appropriate training schools and institutions; thereby, contributing to the professional growth of all personnel.
10. Recruit, select and train personnel to fit job requirements as required.
11. Counsel and advise the Plant Manager regarding production capacities, adherence to schedules and performance. Identify potential plant problems and correctly evaluate pertinent factors in order to take logical course of action on a timely basis.
12. Represent the Plant Manager, at his direction, with government agencies and special meetings or presentations to promote good relations with those affected.

| Job Requirements |
Bachelors degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or other related technical discipline preferred (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree).
Five to ten years of broad technical experience, of which at least two to three years should be in manufacturing operations and/or manufacturing/process engineering.
Proficiency with computers within the MSOffice Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.) and interfacing applications.
Must be effective communicator both written and oral.
Experience with Proposal Planning and Development
Experience with Project Schedule Preparation and Monitoring
Experience with Budget Development and Tracking
Experience with LSS or Lean methods (i.e.; value streams)
Position may require some travel . |
