| Job Description |

GDLS provides a full spectrum of land and amphibious combat systems, subsystems, and components worldwide. The company designs and builds armored vehicles and subsystems for the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, and international customers, and is the defense industry’s largest supplier of armored military vehicles.
Engages in maintenance/facilities management team-based strategic planning.
Manages individual and team contributions in pursuit of overall facilities/maintenance goal achievement.
Responsible for managing the infrastructure, planning and execution of projects encompassing all maintenance/facility disciplines within a large-scale heavy manufacturing environment.
Participates in performance management initiatives.
Participates in contract proposals, reviews estimates of production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules.
Implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state laws related to the workplace. Performs inspections and implements corrective action when necessary.
Identifies hazardous workplace conditions, removes hazards and/or protects employees by guarding, revising work procedures.
Performs training and ensures use of personal protective equipment.
Investigates, prepares, and forwards as required reports on injuries.
Ensures correct labor charging practices by training, auditing, and assisting the hourly employees in this practice.
Identifies and supplies forms / information regarding property accountability. Conducts property audits. Makes / performs the necessary requests for maintenance / repair of company and / or government property.
Prepares and coordinates the plans and schedules for new or existing programs. Determines, monitors, and reviews costs, operational budgets, schedules, and manpower requirements. Formulates and recommends or takes necessary corrective action such as schedule revisions, manpower adjustments and work requirements to obtain desired results.
Coaches teams to high performance, business-based decision making.
Insures performance to facility contract requirements.
Forward visionary of new and innovative methods and technology in the Maintenance and Facilities environment. |
| Job Requirements |
Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Business, Engineering, or Operations Management.
Minimum of 10 years of related maintenance experience required, 12 - 15 years of experience preferred.
Strong managerial background in facilities operations and maintenance.
Leadership skills required for building positive labor management relationships and managing manufacturing, skilled trades, and engineering teams.
Prior maintenance/facilities management experience required including demonstrated performance management planning and development.
Proficient PC skills in MS Word and Excel required.
Must be able to obtain Secret level security clearance.
Working knowledge of ISO 14001, Preventative / Predictive Maintenance Systems.
Demonstrated team-building skills.
Must have the ability to work flexible hours for shift coverage, e.g. off-shift and overlap.
Must be able to spend majority of time on the manufacturing floor.
Must be U. S. citizen. |
