Serve as an Observer / Controller Trainer (OC-T) with the Gaming Lane of the IED Defeat training Lane Observer Controller Team (IEDD-OCT) in support of Joint IED Defeat Organization (JIEDDO) training. Responsible for analyzing the unit's performance during gaming lane training and gaming environment exercises through every phase of each mission. Responsible for maintaining currency and providing subject matter expertise involving doctrine, TTP, tactical planning, on IED Defeat operations. The OC/T provides in-depth advice, counsel, and assistance to exercise unit operations personnel before, during, and after gaming exercises. In addition he provides indepth assessments, oral and written, of unit performance. Provides feedback to the unit using the After Action Review process at the completion of the exercise. OC/T will coach, mentor, and teach unit IED-defeat skills and tasks using current doctrine, techniques and procedures to ensure units are combat ready. The OC/T will be responsible for gathering, developing, organizing and disseminating information on current enemy and friendly trends, TTPs and operations. Interfaces with members of all Observer-Controller teams regarding training of the units, development of rotation scripts, and execution of scripts during rotations, pre-rotational briefings, and after action meetings and reports. The OC/T will use a gamed based software application to train units preparing for deployment on IED-D. The OC/T will develop scenarios with the gaming software applications and must be capable of modifying existing scenarios for unit identified training objectives. The OC/T will use the tools of the game based software application for the AAR process and scenario development. The OC/T must be familiar with game based software applications and their use in training. Requires BS/BA degree. Requires 8-10 years experience. This position requires a former Army / Marine Corps company grade officer or senior noncommissioned officer that has a seasoned practical working knowledge of counter IED and IED Defeat doctrine and operations. Combat Training Center and / or combat experience in Iraq or Afghanistan are preferred but not required. • A working knowledge of counterinsurgency operations and doctrine is desired. Combat Training Center and / or combat experience in Iraq or Afghanistan are preferred but not required. • Working knowledge of Gaming software applications is desired. Experience employing training aids, devices, simulators and simulations is required. • This position requires Microsoft Office skills. • Must possess excellent briefing skills. • Must posses a working knowledge of Army Battle Command Systems at the tactical level. • Should have instructor experience for small groups of up to 25 personnel. • Certified instructor a plus. |
