The Senior Network Engineer will serve as an engineer in the Navy/Air Force Systems group designing, testing, and fielding secure enterprise data networks for military and government customers. Responsibilities include designing, engineering, configuring, installing, testing, and documenting data network transport components, primarily Ethernet switches and IP routers but also possibly DWDM. Strong knowledge of routing protocols including OSPF and BGP, and the ability to develop configurations for routers including IPsec VPNs and GRE tunnels. Participate in design reviews, support security certification and accreditation efforts, using DoD STIG procedures. Develop proposals, tradeoff studies and cost estimates. The Network Engineer will provide technical expertise to project teams and must have technical knowledge and experience in design and implementation of IT systems and networks incorporating one or more of the following technology areas: Gigabit Ethernet, routers, firewalls, and enterprise management applications. The prime responsibility of this position is to design, integrate, and test enterprise management products within the data network infrastructure. Requires BS/BA Degree or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, and work experience. Requires 6-8 years experience. Familiarity with Cisco routers e.g. 7200 and 7600 series, VLANs and associated operating system required. Familiarity with other routers e.g. Juniper is desirable. Proficiency with BGP routing protocol strongly preferred. Familiarity with web proxies, firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems, and enterprise management applications is desirable. Ability to use Unix and Microsoft Windows computers is required. Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance required; currently active clearance preferred. |
