Job Description General Dynamics Information Technology is a top-tier IT integrator that provides information technology, systems engineering and professional services to customers in the defense, intelligence, homeland security, federal civil and commercial sectors. Seeking a Drupal Support Engineer to maintain and grow Customer web sites. The servers are built on Drupal 6 and deployed in a cloud.

Your tasks will involve:
-Resolve technical challenges encountered in Drupal core and contributed modules.
-Install and configure Drupal modules as directed by the customer.
-Maintain, modify, and develop custom modules as directed.
-Maintain and make modifications to the site's theme.
-Create and maintain Drupal views and content types.
-Keep current with Drupal core and module releases and security bulletins.
-Validate Drupal patches and upgrades in staging environment and make recommendations for upgrades
-Assist customer team in developing and deploying single-purpose "micro-sites" deploying in a multi-site configuration with the main web property.
-Prioritize tasks and work independently yet interact well within a team environment
-Solve problems quickly and automate resolution procedures
-Document current and future configuration processes and policies
-Assist in debugging issues with Linux software, applications, cloud resources and network
-Identify opportunities for process improvement, plan, and implement changes.
-Experience in content posting within a content management system (CMS)
-Creating pdf documents from html webpages
-Knowledge of video uploads to social networking sites, such as iTunes, Vimeo, and YouTube
-Knowledge of social networking sites blogging and blog postings
-Experience in the use of helpdesk ticketing systems
-Experience with video formats of .mp3, .mp4, .m4v, .flv, the creation and use of thumbnails and metadata
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Participate in 24x7 on-call support

Requires BS/BA degree.

Requires 5-8 years outstanding experience to include:
software development experience
Linux / Unix development experience
Drupal programming experience
PHP programming experience
Understanding of fundamental Internet Protocols (DNS, HTTP, SSH, SMTP, FTP)
Willing and able to to delve into all parts of Drupal and learn on the fly
Proficient in XHTML, CSS, SQL, XML
Cross-browser/platform experience

-Attention to detail and the "big picture"
-Strong Customer Support and Satisfaction Orientation
The position is full-time and is based in Washington, DC and the surrounding metro area. Must be a US Citizen and clearable to the Top Secret level.
