Job Description General Dynamics Information Technology is a top-tier IT integrator that provides information technology, systems engineering and professional services to customers in the defense, intelligence, homeland security, federal civil and commercial sectors. UNIX Systems Administrator responsible for a heterogeneous UNIX environment consisting of Sun Solaris systems and servers integrated with a Windows 2003 AD environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, server builds, patching, monitoring, software installs, troubleshooting problems, and general system administration. Experience must include, in order of significance, Sun Solaris, Trusted Solaris, Database administration: SQL query, forms, and reports generation; system/database performance monitoring; UNIX scripting languages and multilevel troubleshooting. Experience working with DODIIS M3, ISSE guard and IPL SOLARIS based systems a plus.

Selected candidate must have a minimum of 4 years experience and Bachelors Degree in an area applicable to this position (i.e. computer science, math, or engineering). An additional 3 years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. Current SOLARIS and DOD 8570 IAT level II certification (COMPTIA SECURITY PLUS) needed within first 90 days.

UNIX Administrator with 4 - 7 years of systems experience using SOLARIS 8,9 and 10 required, to include systems administration, networking, testing, integration, problem resolution and database maintenance. Able to work with NIS in integrated AD environment and work with scripting languages. Services should include server and desktop system management responsibilities involving account monitoring, security setup, Operating System (OS) and application installation, and other local area Network System Administration related functions. Candidate should understand how to implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery strategies. Candidate should have the ability to identify tasks that require automation and automate them. Candidate should be able to work closely with other network, security and design engineers in order to provide recommendations and implement new solutions and/or environments as needed. Experience maintaining and building databases using SQL, Remedy and working with MS 2003 a plus.

Employee must be willing to sign Hazardous Duty Letter indicating s/he will deploy if required. Must meet physical fitness/deployment qualifications.
