Position Overview General Dynamics Information Technology's Health Services Group has won a large military health contract co-located in Seattle, WA and Washington, D.C. This contract supports the Defense Centers of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury (DCoE for PH&TBI), Telehealth & Technology Directorate centered at Ft. Lewis, with an office in Silver Spring. There is an immediate requirement for a Data Analyst at the Ft. Lewis location. This position is responsible for ongoing analysis of health care information. It involves development and preparation of information products for staff. It requires the ability to analyze health care data from conceptualization through presentation of the data. It requires proficiency with analytical tools (SAS, SPSS, Excel), knowledge of data analysis methodology, use of presentation software, strong communication skills and a strong commitment to and affinity for delivering the highest level of customer service. Essential Job Functions • Perform complex data analysis in support of ad-hoc and standing customer requests. • Develop programs, methodologies, and files for analyzing and presenting data. • Use and support database applications and analytical tools: evaluate data quality, applications, and functions, produce output, and maintain operation. • Research new data sources and analytical tools. Non-essential Job Functions • Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized presentations. • Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on client engagements. • Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change. • Familiarity with DoD Enterprise data sources such as DMDC, DMSS, M2, and AHLTA • Demonstrated experience and expertise with SAS and SPSS programming language required. • Demonstrated experience applying advanced statistical techniques for analysis of complex data. • Demonstrated experience using advanced Excel features and techniques required. • Demonstrated experience in analysis and presentation of data required. • Experience working with a variety of information systems and data files, including large and complex files: analyzing file structure, using and creating file layouts, transforming raw data into finished products. • Familiarity with various types and sources of health care information, including financial and patient-level data files. • Experience with database application development (e.g., Microsoft Access) desirable. • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken. • Comfortable working independently, with experience working in a team environment. • Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant field. • 2-5 years experience in data analysis, including demonstrated proficiency with analytical software. |
