Senior level Systems Engineer capable of leading a team that designs, documents, and plans advanced enterprise information systems. Familiarity with the DOD Architecture Framework desired; experience designing and documenting enterprise information systems required. Must be experienced with Tier III - level system administration of enterprise networks. Position requires constant interaction with customers in a fast paced, demanding environment. Candidate must be comfortable briefing senior leadership and be capable of coordinating team efforts while managing high-visibility customer initiatives. Designs, plans, documents and manages the implementation of information systems; evaluates and integrates multiple operating systems and applications. Applies extensive industry knowledge to identify and recommend solutions, products, and services to formulate enterprise-wide business IT solutions. Researches, analyzes, recommends and implements new technologies, standards, processes, tools and techniques, and provides recommendations and guidance in the design, development, implementation and management of products and solutions. Works with the customer to translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements. Works with vendors and other architects to select appropriate technologies in order to produce a comprehensive technical architecture within a specific technology portfolio. Creates systems infrastructure documentation and information/technology plans based on an understanding of the organizational strategic direction, technical and business needs. Assists with the application of emerging technologies and technology trends to customer environments including the initial research and recommendations of appropriate courses of action. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience. High-level system/network administration certification required. NATO experience desirable. Must have minimum 8 years of system administration experience including senior level system administration. Desired Skills: Expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008 Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007 Knowledge of VMware ESX 4 and vSphere General knowledge of GCCS 4.x and IPL 6.x Must possess a US Secret security clearance. Must complete ITIL-F certification and Security+ certification within 90 days of employment. 15% travel requirement. The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment.
