This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Data and Telecommunication Engineer (VoIP) to join a Top-Tier Systems Integrator in one of the most technologically advanced parts of GDIT - the Army Infrastructure Sector. This is an opportunity to join a new program for a design, build and install a new building-wide telecommunications backbone to provide integrated voice, video and data communications over unclassified and classified DoD networks, supporting more than 6,000 users. This project delivers a carrier-grade multifunction VOIP switching platform for the DoD that can support subscriber and network demands of the DoD user community. This includes all call processing support, multiple classes of service, priority service, required adjunct and back-office components and continued support for legacy telephony equipment. Work will be performed in Arlington (Rosslyn) Virginia, or at the customer site in Alexandria/Falls Church (Skyline area). The voice systems is based on the Nortel Communication Server 2100 (CS2100), and the Nortel Application Server 5300 (AS5300). We are looking for an experienced individual with excellent data and telecommunication skills. Experience with large voice systems (Carrier Grade) preferred. Experience includes the requirements gathering, system architecture, systems design, build, test and installation of carrier grade voice and data systems. Requires a comprehensive knowledge of the fundamental concepts used in VoIP/telecommunications systems administration and support, as well as experience with Installation, maintenance, troubleshooting Nortel equipment. Applicants must have the ability to work autonomously or in a team environment and work closely with our Government client. BS/BA degree desired. Requires 8-10 years experience. Prior experience with all or most of the following is desired: 1. Experience designing and implementing enterprise VoIP solutions supporting more than 5,000 users. 2. Designing, engineering, configuring, installing, testing, training, and documenting complex architectures and component configurations relating to routing/switching products and/or solutions. 3. Participate in design and peer reviews. 4. Must be able to engineer, prototype, stage, assemble, integrate, install, test, document, and sustain analog and VoIP equipment, and interconnecting infrastructure. 5. Analyze and transform operational and/or functional needs into solutions while remaining compliant with regulations, policies and procedures; document description of system parameters and integrate those parameters to optimize the overall solutions effectiveness and efficiency at task. Nortel product suite, including the Communication Server 2100 (CS2100), and Application Server 5300 (AS5300). 6. A working knowledge of interfacing to applications like Call Pilot and Unified Messaging 2000 (UM 2K) as well as other PBXs like the Nortel Meridian 1 or CS1000, Avaya and Cisco is also a requirement. 7. Experience with Analog and ISDN systems. 8. General IP Networking knowledge including layer 2 & 3 routing. 9. Experience in PBX and/or Call Center Systems engineering. 10. Additional Qualifications (preferred): Call Pilot 4.0, 5.0, Windows administration including port protocols, Passport 8600. 1. Understanding of Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS). 2. DoD Secret security clearance. Top Secret preferred. Must be clearable to Top Secret with potential to Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). 3. Experience with DITSCAP/8500.2 IA controls desired. 4. Knowledge of STIGS, especially VOIP is desired. 5. Experience with vulnerability assessment tools (Retina, Nemesis, Foundstone, ISS, or equivalent) is desired. 6. May require one or more professional certifications. NCSS, NCSE or NCDE Nortel Certifications in Telephony Manager, Element Manager, CS 1000, MPS 500 & 1000, Audiocodes Mediant 2000 SIP gateway, Call Pilot Reporter, Contact Center Manager Server or Symposium Call Center Server preferred. 7. Candidates are required to have one of the following certifications within three months of hire: Network+, Security+, A+, CISSP, CISA, SCNP, GSEC, SSCP, SCNA, GSE |
