UNIX Server Systems Administrator Person chosen for this role will be responsible for performing the following functions: Designs systems, software and equipment layout. Develop, implement, install, test, modify and/or operate complex equipment and systems. Develop test plans and preventative maintenance programs. Instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the system. Serve as company liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects. Manage the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems. Maintain the integrity and security of servers and systems. Serve as a front line interface to users with technical issues. Make recommendations for hardware and software purchases. Interacts with third technology vendors and internal database staff. Conduct systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technology. Heavy travel will be required. Road Warriors are encouraged to apply. Duties may include installing new software, troubleshooting, granting permissions to applications and training users. Requires a solid understanding of Solaris 8. Understanding of Solaris 10 a plus. Knowledge of Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) a plus. Position requires an Active Top Secret Security clearance with SCI level access. Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience required with additional advanced and specialized training in UNlX based network systems administration network administration. PLEASE NOTE: Must have TS/SCI clearance. Experience Solaris Systems Administrator with 5+ years of experience supporting a global environment. Candidate will provide Tier 2 input to support the military customer(s). Candidate will be responsible for tier 2 preferred infrastructure troubleshooting, and support. Candidate must be able to build, configure, and administer servers in a global environment. Experience supporting replicated relational databases to include both Sybase and Oracle a plus. Applicant needs to have firm knowledge of NIS, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, SMTP, FTP, TFTP, HTP, NAS, SAN, COTS and GOTS applications. Shell scripting experience required. TSlSBl An Industry Standard Certification REQUIRED or the ability to earn a certification within two months of being hired. Prefer Solaris 8 or higher. A+ or Security+ for 8570 compliance This position is expected to lose funding around the August 2009 time frame. Candidate will be offered a position back in Tampa working for Resource Services. While not certain, candidates should assume a potential for up to 50-75% travel when working for the Resource Services team. While most project requirements are expected to be located in non-hazardous locations overseas and stateside there is a good possibility travel will include deploying into hazardous duty areas supporting Government projects and mission (Familiarity deploying a plus). |
