As part of the Scope EDGE team, the Senior Engineer, Network is responsible for the design and development of voice, video, radio-frequency, and/or data communications networks. 1. Analyzes voice, video, radio-frequency, and/or data communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices. 2. Plans network layouts and configures systems to user environments. 3. Analyzes network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements. 4. Supports the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed. 5. May provide technical support and troubleshooting to users. 6. May perform network administration duties. 7. May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced network personnel. 8. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. 9. Participates in special projects as required. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience. MCSE 2000 and/or MCSE 2003 And, passed a Microsoft Exchange test or MCITP: Enterprise Administrator and MCTIP: Enterprise Messaging Administrator 5-8 years of directly related experience in network analysis and administration on the following tuypes of systems. PERL and VB Scripts Microsoft Server Microsoft Exchange Server Mail Relays/NAV gateways Microsoft SharePoint Server Portal Network and Workstation/Client operating systems Blackberry Servers Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) Host Based Security System (HBSS) Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) Commercial and Defense Message System / Automated Message Handling System (DMS/AMHS) configured servers Associated DMS/AMHS Outlook client Visio Pro 2002 Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) Server Service Pack Manager 2K DameWare NT/2000 Utilities Exchange 5.5 Admin Windows 2000 Resource Kit DNS Expert Terminal Server (packaged with operating system) QIP Client Norton Antivirus NAVCE 7.U IPSec (enabling software) Kiwi CatTools Requires current DODI 8570: IAT II certification or must obtain within 6 months of hire. Position will require paid overtime up. Position will require short term notice to deploy to AF locations experiencing communication system degradation and outages. Extensive training and professional development provided throughout the work year. |
