The IA Technician (IAT) is a SME is expert technology, responsible for providing knowledge, techniques and/or capabilities that are recognized as industry leading. IAT will support the Certification and accreditation process for administering DIACAP program within the BCTCP. The IAT is responsible to the Information Assurance Manager (IAM) for ensuring that the appropriate operational IA posture is maintained for a DoD information system or the BCTC and BCTCP. The IAT may be used interchangeably with other IA titles supporting DOD IA requirements within BCTCP.(e.g., Information Systems Security Officer, Information Systems Security Custodian, Network Security Officer, or Terminal Area Security Officer). The IAT's mission is guided by the U.S. Army Office of Information Assurance and Compliance Business Best Practices and governed by U.S. Army Regulation 25-2 (IA) and the extensive DODI 8500 series of publications and policies. • Provides security C&A support for the BCTCP • Performs system test and evaluation on Windows 2008 Server systems • Interviews end users and collect data that will be critical for the development of C&A packages • Analyzes collected data and write C&A documents per DIACAP and USA policies, including System Security Plans, Risk Assessment Plans, Privacy Impact Assessments, Plans of Actions and Milestones, Security Test and Evaluation Plans, and Contingency Plans • Performs security analysis of approved Active Directory Forest architectures based on applicable DoD and Army server configurations. • Generates type and site certifications for deployed systems • Generates documentation for interim authority to connect • Document and provide to the Government system architecture and operating environment. Develop and maintain the System Security Plan. Participate in information system risk assessments and Security Test & Evaluations (ST&E) during the Certification and Accreditation (C&A) process. Develop, document, and integrate technical security solutions. • System testing, evaluation and configuration or Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server and workstations • Planning, installing and configuring a McAfee ePO server Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience. IAT Level II DoD mandated security certification (CISSP, CISA, Security +, CAP, etc) and Windows O/S certification 5-8 years IT and/or IA experience working in some or all of the following areas: internet, web, application and network security techniques; multiple operating systems/security (Windows, Solaris, Linux, etc.); knowledge of firewalls, networks canning and intrusion detection products and authentication technologies Experience working with U.S. Government IT systems/networks Experience with DISA Gold Disk and a working knowledge of DISA STIG and DoD C&A policy guidance. Experience in network, host, data and/or application security in multiple operating system environments; experience working with IP networking, networking protocols and understanding of security related technologies including encryption, IP sec, PKI, VPNs, firewalls, proxy services, DNS, electronic mail and access-lists Recent military experience is highly desirable Strong verbal/written communication skills; analytical and problem solving skills to identify and analyze network/operating system security issues; ability to perform and interpret vulnerability assessments and document the operations of a security infrastructure |
