Job Description General Dynamics Information Technology is a top-tier IT integrator that provides information technology, systems engineering and professional services to customers in the defense, intelligence, homeland security, federal civil and commercial sectors. Produces Logistics Plans and CS Contingency Plans, Functional Plans, Operations Plans, Concepts of Employment Plans, Planning Orders and associated Planning Directives. The SPO Plans works on current to near-term sustainment plans. The position does not do long term planning, which is viewed as one (1) year or more out. Near to midterm planning is from 30 to 90 days out. This section conducts sustainment planning at the operational level to support the tactical level of sustainment. Examples of this include developing Concepts of Support for near term military operations, coordination with other sustainment agencies and higher and lower headquarters, such as ESCs, Sustainment Brigades, AMC, etc. Daily tasks include reading and analyzing Orders, conducting Military Decision Making Planning, and developing Mission Analysis, Course of Action and Concept of Support Briefs for the DMC Chief, Support Operations Officer and the Commander. The position also assists the other branches of the SPO/DMC in conducting near-term planning, often consolidating the plans from each branch into a single concept of support.

Must maintain a continual and comprehensive understanding of the following: Power projection of forces and sustainment, RSO, Battlefield distribution, Inter-theater and intra-theater transportation operations, deliberate and crisis action planning and plans, and distribution management.

Executing MDMP process, producing mission analysis products, developing Course of Action (COAs) for each activity planned; planning and synchronizing all activities of the material, supply, services and movement management operations, to ensure adequate CSS concept of support plans, movement plans, and operation orders.

Performs as the SPO planning center of information; working with input from other DMC branch sections and from other internal and external specialized staff or units. Requires working closely with the logistics operations officer, maintaining liaison with other staff directorates, contractors, and commands involved in the theater logistics planning process.

Maintain combat service support situational awareness through all means of information systems, battle command automation system, and CSS C2 information systems.

Monitor theater planning priorities.


A Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university. A degree in Business Management, Political Science, Logistics Management or Computer Science or related field is preferred.

Experience handling classified and unclassified information.

Experience with DOD supply management or/and distribution management and systems; knowledge of Army STAMIS, battle command automation system, C2 information systems and other automation systems. Prefer Command Post of the Future or general experience in Army Battle Command System (ABCS).

Experience with computer software/office applications and logistics operations.
