Candidate will be capable of providing professional level analysis of voice, video, radio-frequency, and/or data communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites and configuring networked communication devices. Plans network layouts and configures systems to customer environment. Analyzes network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements and supports the acquisition of hardware and software, as well as subcontractor services as needed. Candidate will have a solid understanding and knowledge of virtualization, storage, storage area network (SAN), network-attached storage (NAS), direct-attached storage (DAS) technologies. Candidate will support VMware platform administration (VMware ESX Server and Virtual Center), supporting planning, architecture, and implementation of disaster recovery related projects, for local and remote sites as required. Candidate will install and maintain various storage, backup, recovery and data protection infrastructure disaster recovery related projects as required. As required, candidate will provide 24x7 support of all backup and recovery infrastructure. Familiarization with backup software supporting all environments, i.e EMC CLARiiON software snapshots, and multiple tape and disk devices, Data Domain disk-based backup devices, and CLARiiON storage arrays. Candidate will prepare technical deployment plans and utilization reports and work with hosted application administrators to coordinate implementation and ensure appropriate backups are configured and completed as required. As required, develop and document procedures related to systems administration of the Backup and Recovery environment. Using Remedy, respond, track and escalate incidents on all Backup and Recovery infrastructure. Candidate will perform system patch deployments and hardware maintenance application upgrades. Candidate will monitor and resolve any technology related issues within the backup system. Perform functional administration of Microsoft Cluster Server, SQL Cluster Server, Oracle Real Application Cluster, Microsoft IIS, Microsoft ISA, BMC Remedy, Apache, VMware Virtual Center, McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator, AntiVirus, HIPS and Remediation Manager, Diskeeper, and HP(Mercury) SiteScope. Candidate will provide technical support, network administration, and troubleshooting support to the user community as required, providing guidance and work leadership to less-experienced network personnel, may have supervisory responsibilities. Generates end-of-shift reports for documentation and knowledge transfer to data center staff Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience. 10-15 years of directly related experience in network analysis and design. |
