SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER San Antonio, TX Active TS/SCI is required Provides overall Network support for a broad range of Military System programs. Supports installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of local area Network (LAN) and/or Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructure. Manages daily operations of local and wide area Networks within span of control. May propose solutions to management regarding future needs and current usage. Assists in planning for upgrades and replacements for facilities interconnected on a common Network. Supports initial point of contact for LAN/WAN problems. Provides the focal point for coordination of higher tiers of maintenance support. Will evaluate Network performance using hardware and software diagnostic tools. Evaluates Network changes for operational impact. Works on problems of moderate scope. May determine methods and procedures to be used on new assignments. Frequently interacts with functional peer groups. Must understand DOD security policies and procedures. Incumbent will need to maintain a high level of customer service, and possess excellent communications skills. Bachelor degree in an information technology, computer-related engineering or other related communications field and 5+ year's related experience or equivalent. Requires both CCNA and CCNP (switching) professional Network Technical Certifications; must meet DoD Directive 8570.01 certification requirement (Security +). Experience with Military Network infrastructure is preferred. Comprehensive technical knowledge with strong communication skills (written & oral) and customer interface. 5-8 years of directly related experience in network analysis and administration. Employee must be willing to sign Hazardous Duty Letter indicating s/he will deploy if required. Must meet physical fitness/deployment qualifications. This position might require employee to work different shifts. Applicants for this opportunity must have a US Government security clearance cleared for Top Secret information and granted access to sensitive compartmented information based on a Single Scope Background Investigation. |
