•Project management of specific social media and/or public relations campaigns, including management of vendors and partners in support of these campaigns.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
•Supports and manages implementation of the company's earned media initiatives that differentiate the brand and drive store and/or online traffic and sales.
•Collaborates with marketing peers and external agencies and vendors to develop and implement strategic social media and public relations initiatives
•Daily management of social media properties and communities, which includes responding to pet parents on social media in the voice of the company.
•Execute and manage social media engagement - content calendar, contests, games, apps, etc. on multiple social media channels with the objective of ensuring a positive user experience and achieving established goals and metrics
•Working with print, radio, broadcast and online media outlets
•Drafting communications plans, press releases/statements, key messages, talking points, etc.
•Sharing rotational duty monitoring a 24-hour news media telephone line and email box, and responding to and triaging inquiries, coordinating interviews, etc.
•Develops and maintains reports to be shared with marketing and communications peers and the marketing leadership team to quantify the impact of public relations and social media strategies and tactics by campaign and/or quarter.
•Continually monitor public relations and social media trends and competitive landscape and report on new trends and/or strategies being implemented by primary competitors that may cause an opportunity or threat to PetSmart's public relations and social media goals and objectives.
•Assist in annual public relations and social media strategic planning, including financial planning.
•Assist in management of agency relationships, including the public relations agency of record and other agencies engaged to support specific social media campaigns.
•Manages day-to-day initiatives and other special projects as assigned.
•Ability to work well under pressure, with demonstrated success at working under deadlines with tight time frames
•Ability to multitask and thrive in challenging situations that require creativity, drive and commitment
•Strong analytical and problem solving skills
|Experience/Education Required||EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
•Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism or Communications or related field from an accredited four-year college or university
•Masters of Business Administration preferred but not required
•4-6 years in corporate marketing and/or public relations role, which may include 1-2 years with a public relations agency
•Adept with all Microsoft Office software and using Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest
