The Engineering Services team provides in-depth power systems analysis, testing, troubleshooting, design, and project management in order to ensure that our customers' power systems operate efficiently, reliably, safely, and economically. We have numerous engineering services career opportunities all across the United States. Schneider Electric is currently recruiting for a Staff Application Engineer/Project Manager. The position will be based out of the Tustin, CA area. Responsibilities of this role include the coordination and monitoring of technical projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring that technical projects are completed on schedule and within budget. Also includes project planning, estimating, execution, implementation and support. The individual will work closely with the customer and internal resources to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of solutions deployed in support of project goals and objectives. Travel approximately 30% to customer sites required. Majority of travel is domestic with possible occasional international travel. Key Tasks - work closely with internal and external stakeholders and customers in overseeing and coordinating project priorities, scope, resource requirements, and timing of deliverables; assist management with evaluation and development of a project plan and participate in the planning and formulation of design alternatives and solutions; monitor project deliverables and progress through continuous communication with project members and key stakeholders; remain aware of any potential problems and work to mitigate any risks; prepare reports on project progress and problems; ensure projects are completed according to corporate and customer plan. Qualifications Essential - US Citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance at sensitive customer sites, such as government and US defense contractor sites. A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combined with 5+ years of relevant project management work experience. Computer proficiency in MS Project, Office, and Visio. Knowledge of contract documents and ability to clearly understand specifications. Ability to negotiate and manage contractual arrangements. Ability to work and contribute as an effective team player in a fast paced deadline driven environment. Developed interpersonal skills with an ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers of various technical abilities, including experience working with contractors, consultants, and sales staff as required. Ability to self-manage, multi-task and learn new skills quickly. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to travel up to 30% to various customer sites mostly throughout the US Desirable -PMP Certification. Database skills (SQL). Knowledge and experience in the power distribution and control/automation industry (transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, drives). Experience managing personnel. Knowledge and/or experience of competitor products and services. Knowledge and/or training in applicable OSHA regulations. |
