Firmware Development Engineer-Process Instrumentation

Responsibilities and Accountabilities
TRSS is a mid-sized business unit within Schneider Electric. We are developing new and enhanced products for our Accutech wireless instrumentation line. The engineering team is small enough that you will interact daily with senior management. The solutions to problems that you solve will quickly find their way into real products. However, the business unit is also large enough that you will find a variety of interesting and tough technical problems to solve.

You will
•Develop embedded firmware for process instrumentation products
•Develop low level drivers for interfacing with sensors
•Design, prototype and test new instrumentation products

Skills, Special Attributes, and Training requirements:
•Strong experience developing firmware for embedded microcontrollers
•Experience with instrumentation concepts such as characterization, calibration, temperature effect, hysteresis, accuracy, resolution, etc.
•RF experience (900 MHz to 2.4 GHz) with application or design, or a Knowledge of wireless networking concepts would be an asset
•Knowledge of a variety of sensor technologies (DP, pressure, temperature, level, flow) would be an asset
•Ability to work independently within a dynamic team environment
•Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
•Excellent communication skills in English, verbal and written and be able to communicate effectively throughout the organization.

Education and Experience Requirements:
•Degree in Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering
•Minimum of 7 years experience with instrumentation and embedded firmware development
