 Job Responsibilities SENIOR DIRECTOR GLOBAL STANDARDS, CODES AND ENVIRONMENT

Summary: Join the global team responsible for defining, developing and implementing APC by Schneider Electric's global strategy for engagement with global standards bodies and for the overall management of a global network of experts in technology businesses, sales regions and corporate functions. Active participation in leadership positions within global standards bodies is expected to advocate on behalf of APC by Schneider Electric.

Essential Functions: develop, define, communicate and execute the global standards strategy to expand and protect our markets in coordination with corporate and functional stakeholders; identify and prioritize strategic standards organizations to support key objectives; develop a global network of experts to assure key positions in both local and global committees; develop relationships within the Schneider network to leverage combined strengths; act as ambassador/diplomat of APC to assure interests are addressed; participate in a leadership capacity on select industry boards, standards organizations and industry committees to focus working groups in the development of preferred standards, practices, code issues and guides; develop effective partnerships with business professionals, authorities and stakeholders including industry associations; coordinate standards activities across the business for the implementation of standards, codes and environmental programs; organize and manage semi-annual workshops for expert network to document formal position on key issues; manage a dedicated multi-cultural staff tasked in identifying, analyzing and executing action plans; develop intelligence to anticipate future environmental and product standards and industry trends; recommend corrective actions and plans to address any gaps; foster a standardization culture in the company.

Additional Functions: participate in the development of select white papers for relevant issues to further advance our position; participate in cross-functional Marketing and R&D groups as needed; draft and give select presentations on key strategic Standards and Environmental issues .

Education and Experience: MBA preferred; Fluent English (written, spoken). Minimum of 10 years experience in technical and /or marketing within the IT industry and good knowledge of our business segments (Data Centers, Buildings-Industry and Infrastructure, Business Networks and Residential); prior experience in managing global networks of people and communities of practice; ability to develop or have an excellent working knowledge of the global Schneider Electric organization.

Knowledge and Skills: effective influencing communication skills; ability to distill complex ideas to a target audience with diverse background and culture; leadership and professional skills to represent the company in senior level executive committees; excellent business ethics and integrity; excellent analysis skills to identify issues and propose appropriate action plans; good technical background; superior ability to manage networks of people in a multi-cultural company; ability to debate professionally and advocate on behalf of the company ‘s interests in industry standards, manufacturing associations and NGO committees while maintaining appropriate confidentiality. Good knowledge of the offer development process and good understanding of the marketing mix, preferred.

Travel: Frequent travel in the United States, Europe and Asia (30% of time) for internal meetings or attendance in standardization or professional bodies.
