Schneider Electric Project Manager #31649 - Solar Business Burnaby, BC We are currently seeking a positive, result driven, collaborative, highly motivated Continuation Engineering Program Manager based in our Burnaby, BC location. The Continuation Engineering Program Manager is leads and directs a cross functional team to plan and execute product performance investigations, product design changes, product manufacturing changes, and product retrofits in the field. The successful candidate requires a technical understanding of electrical power products, Engineering Change Process, conflict negotiation and a customer focus. Responsibilities: - Project Team: Manages the relationship between the Continuation Engineering team and all cross-functional technical (Electrical, Mechanical, software, firmware, software test, etc) and business functions (filed service, customer service, product management, sales, sales support, regional sales) critical to successful support of launched products. Negotiates with functional teams for resources required to execute requested product changes. -Product Change Requests & Prioritization: Works collaboratively with project team to understand scope of work required and business impact of requested product changes. Maintains status files for each product change project, removes implementation roadblocks, escalates issues, and drives team to completion. Ensures proper prioritization of requested changes and communicates expected delivery dates. -Adherence to Engineering Change Processes: Ensures all product change activities follow proper Engineering Change Order and Product Safety Review processes. -Product Performance Investigations: Assembles and drives cross-functional team to investigate root causes of product performance issues in conjunction with Quality team. After identification of root cause, drives process and/or design improvements to prevent repeated product performance issues. -Field Escalations: Directs engineering resources to support escalations from field service when required. -New Adaptations: Drives projects through Product Evolution Process for new adaption projects -Process Improvement: Able to identify weaknesses and drive process improvements for Product Evolution Process and related Engineering Change Order processes Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: •Prefer BASc Electrical Engineering with focus on power electronics or equivalent experience •PMP certification •Minimum 5years of successful experience in a new Product development or product change environment •Experience in or managing technical and nontechnical teams •Prefer some experience working in other functions involved in product support; Service, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Manufacturing, Test Engineering, Technical Sales Support, Application engineering etc. •Experience working in an organization with shared Sales and Service channel model is an asset Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: •Must be thoroughly familiar with aspects of engineering design, product development (stage-gate process), market requirements, functional specifications, and engineering change order process •Must be a results- oriented individual capable of influencing others in a collaborative and sometimes virtual environment •Must be a proven leader who can influence others with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization •Customer focused with good relationship building and conflict resolution skills. •Highly motivated and an independent leader comfortable working in a fast paced environment. •Must possess good written and oral presentation skills and the ability to communicate ideas effectively to senior management. •Effective time management and organizational skills; ability to manage or be a team player in a number of simultaneous projects within a fast paced work environment. •Multi-tasker: must be able to drive, manage, organize simultaneous projects and change requests •Other languages (German, Italian, Spanish) would be an asset.
