Schneider Electric is searching for experienced Interaction Designers; a successful candidate must be outgoing and be passionate about designing digital applications.
This position is fundamentally responsible for creating compelling interactive experiences through collaboration, customer engagements, and user research.
This means you excel at the following:
• Being inquisitive about complex systems and processes, both software-based and in the real world.
• Going beyond critique to provide concrete solutions for design problems.
• Excited about creating detailed storyboards, mockups, and prototypes that effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
• Comfortable presenting our design vision to Developers, Product Managers, Project Managers, and Executives.
• Decisive. You value the feedback of other Designers and SME's, but able to make a judgment call without it.
• Working collaboratively. Understanding the co-ideation among team members is the quickest path to the best solutions.
• Empathizing. The design methodology we use is built around satisfying the needs and motivations of our customers. You must have a strong desire to make software better.
Additionally, this position is primarily responsible for discovery, driving concept direction, and generating ideas toward solutions. Must understand structure and flow.
In the IxD role, you will excel at visualizing solutions with digital tools, whiteboard markers, and paper napkins. You should be comfortable expressing your design ideas virtually anywhere, anytime, and with whatever tool that happens to be available.
What it takes to be one:
We're looking for candidates with 5+ years of professional experience designing enterprise software applications and services. Solid academic background in Interaction Design or related field is suggested. Candidates should be experienced at creating personas and scenarios to drive design vision. Prototyping experience using Abobe Suite and Microsoft Expression Studio is a plus. Excellent leadership, communication and teamwork skills.
