The Energy Solutions division is offering an outstanding opportunity for motivated individuals with an advanced understanding of project development processes, building systems, and energy use to assume the role of Senior Development Engineer in Newtown (CT). Reporting directly to the Regional Director of Project Development and Engineering, this key role will be responsible for leading the development of basic and intermediate level performance contracting projects as well as performing tasks and functions associated with the development of complex projects of unlimited scope and size. He or she will be expected to develop projects that meet or exceed the divisional goals and objectives.
The Senior Development Engineer will be in a position to lead, plan, organize and participate in performing preliminary and detailed project development audits of basic and intermediate level performance contracting projects. The selected individual will also be responsible for directing the methodologies of performing energy savings calculations and identifying any risk associated with the projections. Additionally, this person will review savings projections to ensure plausibility and identify any financial risk, lead the effort in defining project scope and performing project estimates and review and ensure project estimates are accurate and the project scope is executable within the budget.
This individual will prepare technical audit reports and will work with the sales team to strategize the sale of a project. They may also be asked to assist the sales team with sales presentations. To perform this job successfully, an individual must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and possess the ability to solicit input from others while influencing and persuading internal and external customers to listen effectively. This position also offers the opportunity to mentor and train junior engineers.
Minimum requirements and qualifications include a four year degree or equivalent related work experience as well as a minimum of five years of related experience. Advanced degrees and certifications are preferred but not required in order to be considered. Candidates must have a demonstrated excellence in the areas of: verbal and written communication, problem solving, organization skills, task prioritization, integrity, training/mentoring skills, customer service and working in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have an intermediate understanding of performance contracting. Proficiency in various Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required. Travel to project sites will be approximately 20 - 60% of the time based on business need. |
