Position Profile Working closely with the design team and other architects, the Chief Architect is responsible for the technical vision & integrity of the Energy Management software systems built by the Enterprise Software Group. This position will ensure that the software is designed to deliver on near-term and long-term business objectives, manage design standards & processes and own the technology roadmap. This role is global in scope. You will work with people, processes and products from many different parts of the world. Because of this need to be globally connected, some travel will be required. The international business card title is expected to be Chief Architect. Local Position evaluation will depend on North American Policy. Responsibilities & Key Tasks • Work with Architects in other entities to set the vision for the Energy Management software system. Ensure that the implementation of the programmatic interfaces matches the desired specification. • Work with Product and Program Managers to align technical decisions with business decisions • Work with development and development support teams to build the best designs and infrastructure • Publish, maintain and enforce design principles & standards • Present the architecture to business audience and other stakeholders as required. • Lead design reviews and manage the design processes • Define the configuration management and packaging aspects of the software systems. • Work with other entities in Schneider Electric to ensure that the Energy Management Software architecture is aligned with them • Stay on top of the latest trends in software technology. Manage the technology adoption roadmap • Mentor junior designers Qualifications • 5 or more years experience as an architect or senior design leader • Engineering degree or equivalent • Strong knowledge of software architecture principles & practices • Excellent organizational, communication, decision-making and relationship management skills • Experience with Software Product Lines, Service-Oriented Architectures and User Centered Design • Passion for software technologies and trends • Knowledge of Schneider software products, solutions and business |
