Design for Service Program manager with emphasis on Cooling expertise.
Job Summary
Secure the future Service business in terms of growth and profitability, by managing end to end all service related topics during a hardware product development effort including business evaluation, specifications for the product design, monitoring development for serviceability and safety attending design review meetings, Global training coordination and spare parts availability before the release to sales of the hardware product. The Design for Services program manager is responsible for service deliverables within the Offer Creation Program they are assigned to.

Responsibilities
Actions:
- Define the appropriate Service offering (business case & evaluation) for any new hardware product in design, based on Offers Management service stragegy and corporate policies
- Define the technical specification to be integrated into the product design
- Involve the product development team members to participation in the specification
- Participate in product design reviews to ensure servicability and adherance to service design standards.
- Follow the Design process; if any process issues arise, escalate to the Process & Methods manager
- Coordinate with training team early in the process to design and implement a training plan including the number of FSEs (Field Service Engineers) to be trained and the assigned budget
- Assist in creation and review of training material for delivery to the regional product field support functions (Field Service, Techincal Support, Operations)
- Review product documentation to ensure accurate translation of technical information and proper best practices are followed during Installation, Operation, Maintenance & Service of the hardware product.
- Inform Service Offer managers about the roadmap and deadlines to define the specific offer for the product.
- Contribute to the creation of SKUs, reviewing scope of work, Site forms according to the Service Offer managers
Behaviour:
- Attend all product development meetings to manage any potential issues whenever services are involved
- Escalate repair and safety design issues to DFS manager / Service Offer Management Director and Offer Creation management for resolution
- Validate any FSE (Field Service Engineer) operation tool development with Zone FSEs
- Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for to bring best practices products and services development
Main objectives:
- Prior release to sales you're responsible for all service items to be ready on time.
- Influence Product design based on service design standards.
- Product Release to sales requires all service items to be completed.
- Secure the product release to sales due to services.

Success criteria
A successful candidate will be capable of:
- Transforming Initial service specs into features implemented in the product at the release to sales phase
- Establishing a network with all development resources in the product LOBs
- Delivering service items on-time consistent with the roadmap
- Being able to challenge processes with recommendation for process improvement
- Establishing leadership that is recognized by the other LOB members
- Reporting & escalating immediately any critical issue to could delay the release to sales
- Challenging the product development managers specs to ensure service design standards
Education and Experience
- Technical degree
- 8 to 10 years experience in the design and implementation of Services, hardware services preferred, with expertise in cooling
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- excellent communication skills
- problem solving skills and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Travel
- Domestic and international travel as needed.
