PURPOSE This position reports to the Engineering Manager for Busways & Panelboards Equipments and Solutions. The successful applicant will be the Engineering Technical Lead on cross-functional development teams. It will involve interaction with Managers and Senior Managers across various functions, and occasionally with Engineering Directors. It is in new product development.
PROFILE OF CANDIDATES -
• The position requires a BSME and 5 years as a project lead with strong problem solving abilities. MSME and/or PE license preferred.
• Minimum 10 years experience in new product development, preferably in Electromechanical development required. Mechanical product development experience will be considered. - Strong problem solving abilities
• Minimum 5 years experience in leading project development required.
• Management experience in an engineering environment or other leadership experience required.
• Strong engineering technical skills required.
KEY LEADERSHIP SKILLS REQUIRED :
- Very Customer oriented & understands Voice of Customer concepts - Ability to Influence and Convince - Empowers people - Motivates others to achieve goals - Very effective verbal and written communications skills.
CROSS FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES - Program Management : Extensive experience in scheduling and planning project execution. - Analyse issues - Effective report writing - Communicate effectively - Cross cultural experience - Experience in a cross functional environment - Experience in a cross cultural and virtual technical environment KEY TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES - Experience with Analytics programs (Finite Element Analysis, Thermal analysis, E-Mag…). - Experience with industry standards and third party certification. - Accustomed to converting customer/marketing requirements into technical specifications for product development. - Thorough knowledge of materials (steel, aluminum, copper, electrical insulating applications) from design, fabrication, and Quality Value Engineering perspectives. - Experience in Lean and/or Six Sigma processes. - Some knowledge in control and communications circuits and applications preferred
