Schneider Electric Energy Solutions is offering an outstanding opportunity for a motivated individual to assume the role of Construction Services Manager in Kansas City (KS) or Tulsa (OK). Reporting directly to the Director of Construction Services, Estimating and Cost Control, this key role will be responsible for contract administration and cost control of assigned construction projects associated with Energy Solutions. He or she will conduct Constructability Reviews to minimize our risk and ensure we are on or above gross margin performance levels. The Construction Services Manager will see that the goals and objectives of each project are accomplished at or above the estimated operating margin.
The Construction Services Manager will oversee the project estimate from mid-term to project close-out. The selected individual will act as the liaison between the project development team and the installation/operations team. Additionally, this person will contribute to divisional and departmental strategic planning. Oversight of subcontractor qualification, subcontractor bid solicitation, bid evaluation and subcontract negotiations will fall under the responsibility of the Construction Services Manager.
This individual will conduct backlog reviews and oversee all financial services associated with the construction contract. This includes, but is not limited to: change order management, billings, forecasting, bonds, insurance, accounts payable and receivables and project re-estimates/cost revisions. They will also be responsible for the department's adherence to the established quality system, oversight of required project document control and management of the subcontractor database. This position also offers the opportunity to assist in the development of the project team.
Minimum requirements and qualifications include a four year degree or equivalent related work experience as well as a minimum of four years of related experience. Advanced certifications and supervisory experience are preferred but not required in order to be considered. Candidates must have a demonstrated excellence in the areas of: verbal and written communication, leadership, problem solving, organization skills, task prioritization, integrity, training/mentoring skills, customer service and working in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have an expert-level understanding of contracting procedures and tactics relative to areas such as project correspondence, documentation, timely notice of claims, subcontract negotiation/administration, codes and standards and contract law. To be considered, a candidate must be able to demonstrate an advanced understanding of revenue, cost, gross margin and cash management. Proficiency in project management software and various Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required. Travel to project sites will be approximately 15 - 50% of the time based on business need.
