Senior Application Engineer - HMI/SCADA
Key Job Responsibilities:
• Developing HMI/SCADA solutions for electrical power monitoring and control applications
• Consulting with sales force and customers to determine system operation requirements
• Specifying and purchasing of hardware/software as required by project
• Supporting development of software standards for modular, scalable, reusable solutions
• Mentoring engineering teams on HMI/SCADA products and developed solutions
• Assisting in start-up services, troubleshooting, and training for commissioned systems
Qualifications, Essential:
• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
• 5 years experience designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and commissioning HMI/SCADA applications with products such as InTouch, iFIX, GENESIS32, RSView32, and CIMPLICITY.
• Experience in creating applications in CitectSCADA v6.0 and later, including graphical screen development and Cicode programming
• Experience with industry standard communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC, and BACnet
• Experience with integrating devices from multiple vendors into a packaged solution
• Knowledgeable in computer networking architectures, topologies and hardware
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft operating systems and software applications
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a group setting, team oriented, self-motivated, and results driven
• Stable work history
• Willingness to travel up to 20% to customer sites as necessary (mostly domestic)
This position requires presence at customer sites, and as such, candidate must be able to obtain necessary clearance and/or credentials to travel abroad and comply with customer requirements for executing work on their site. The types of credentials that might be required include, but are not limited to, passports, Homeland Security clearance, background and credit checks, etc.
Qualifications, Desirable:
• Citect Certified Engineer (CCE)
• Knowledgeable in computer programming languages (VB, C#, C++, Java script), database design (SQL), and HTML development
• PLC programming and troubleshooting experience, especially with Schneider Electric products
• Experience in the fields of electrical distribution and emergency power generation
• Experience in the integration of power monitoring and control systems with Square D products
