 Job Responsibilities Overview

Working with the ‘buildings' business unit, the sales engineer will be responsible for achieving targets related to building automation/security sales. Combined with a strong sales acumen, the sales engineer will utilize their technical expertise to help customers select the right product. You have the ability to identify a customer's problem/need and provide the appropriate solution.

Role

•Sets goals and objectives, develops sales/business plans, establishes call plans and
strategies, develops account profiles and executes the sales plan.
•Applies market and account skills necessary for dealing with specific target audiences
such as distributors, contractors, industrials and utilities.
•Identifies and contacts potential customers or prospects, either existing or new.
•Maintains up-to-date knowledge of products, Schneider Electric and competitive
products and their strengths, weaknesses and applications.
•Maintains a high level of customer satisfaction through increased availability/access,
timely communication, placing accurate orders, tracking and expediting orders, and
following up on accounts.
•Assists management in training Sales Support personnel on product pricing and
application.

Additional Responsibilities

Negotiates and coordinates pricing strategies, market conditions and closes business
•Acts as liaison between customers and distributors to support positive party relationship.
•Trains others (e.g. distributors) on building automation/security products and processes.
•May input quotations, enter and manage orders.
•Analyzes market and provides pricing recommendations.
•Implements programs/strategies improving company market position

Qualifications

•5+ years experience in a sales/technical role supporting building automation/security
•Ability to read blueprints, architectural, mechanical and electrical documents
•Ability to consult customer with a solution offerings to suit customer needs
•Related diploma/degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent education
•Exceptional presentation skills with demonstrated sales techniques.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills.
•Proven ability to manage a Territory with little supervision.
•Demonstrated leadership and proven negotiation skills and sales achievements.
•Self-motivated with dedicated client services focus and strong desire to succeed.
•Ability to work well independently as well as be a team player.
