The Manufacturing Team Lead's role is focused on excellence in team performance. This includes maintaining on time delivery, quality levels, and staff development, as well as helping create the vision and objectives collaboratively with other team leads to ensure our future performance. As a member of the Operations team, the successful candidate will also have to liaise with many other departments including Research and Development, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, and Logistics. Manufacturing is a busy challenging environment at the center of fulfilling our revenue goals, introducing new products and serving our customers unique needs The Manufacturing Team Lead is accountable for shop floor staff and adherence to documented process as defined for daily production. This position is an important leadership role in Manufacturing Operations and will be instrumental in our drive to improve production quality and efficiency. Responsibilities & Key Tasks o Manages scheduling of assemblers, technicians, and operators o Follow established company procedures and policy o Strong and demonstrated communication skills o Exhibits strong leadership skills mentoring staff, evaluating employee performance, dealing with performance issues, and hiring o Maintain compliance with all safety rules/regulations in order to ensure a safe working environment o Ensures adherence to WBC standard o Conducts team safety meetings o Maintaining strict adherence to documented production processes and eliminating process variability o Ensuring schedule & production commitments are maintained (On Time Delivery) o Reviewing and maintaining consistent Manufacturing Defect Rate (MDR) o Reduce and monitor material scrap rate o Maintain accurate inventory and monitor to minimum and maximum quantities o Conducts daily short interval management meeting (SIM 1 and 2) o Supports a culture of continuous improvement and embraces change and best practices outlined in the SPS guidelines. o Stakeholder in the process improvement initiative providing feedback and input to the Process Improvement Teams o Monitoring of all appropriate KPI and reporting o Maintain production line efficiency (DVC), quality, cleanliness and safety o Supports company direction and objectives o Ensures lines are operating efficiently, addresses issues and barriers quickly and sufficiently Essential Qualifications: • Proven ability to take personal ownership of issues and drive for results • Excellent organizational, time management, communication, decision-making and relationship management skills • Flexibility to respond to shifting priorities and ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision • Demonstrated leadership abilities and excellent interpersonal skills • Knowledge of or experience in a lean manufacturing environment is an asset • Excellent problem solving and time management skills • Computer literacy including Word, Excel and MRP system • Attention to detail and organizational skills required • Organized, with a strong ability to self manage • Very strong interpersonal skills - including strong conflict resolutions skills • Strong logistic problem solving skills and ability to learn quickly • Ability to envision team improvements and rally the team to achieve them • Positive, enthusiastic, team player Desirable Qualifications: • Supervisory experience • Post secondary education • Strong knowledge of Schneider products, solutions and business • Understanding of =S= customers and markets • Understanding of =S= production process • 2-3 years experience in a lead Assembly / Production position |
