Schneider Electric has an outstanding opportunity for a passionate individual to assume the role of Application Engineer at our Edmonton Plant. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager this role is responsible for producing drawings and bills of materials for Engineered Equipment (Motor Control Centers & switchboards).

The Application engineer will ensure quality of drawings and bills of materials as per code and customers requirements, and will design mechanical layouts for special components to be installed in Motor Control Centers. In this role you will interface with employees throughout the plant and the country -- working closely with production associates to ensure proper construction of equipment; with quality control to ensure quality of products (working within ISO9001-2000 environment); with sales on change orders and special requirements; with consultants to meet customer requirements; and with purchasing to ensure special materials are pre-ordered.

Qualifications:
- Electrical Engineering Degree or Diploma
- Previous experience in Motor Control Centers and other engineered products
- Experience with drafting systems including AUTOCAD
- Good understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code, UL and CSA regulations
- Team Leader
- Excellent computer skills and proficient in Windows applications (Excel , Word, and Access)
- Excellent English communication skills, oral and written (French language skills a plus)
- Good knowledge of Schneider Electric products preferred
