Schneider Electric Smart Infrastructure currently has an outstanding opportunity for a motivated individual to assume the role of Developer Intern in our Calgary location. This position is entry-level and is typically held by individuals who are recent graduates/ graduating in May 2012 or who have 1-2 years relevant industry experience. This position involves development and configuration of single components of a system under the direction of a more senior analyst/engineer.


- Telvent has a career opportunity for a motivated person to join our Oil & Gas Platform team.
- This person will have strong software engineering skills and programming experience to work as a member of our team. This individual will be capable of completing varied assignments requiring general familiarity with a broad field of technology and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other fields.
- This individual will play a role in the development of new and enhancement of existing desktop, server-based and web applications for gas and utility clients.
- Telvent Developers must be self-motivated, flexible and able to learn new technologies and processes as these become important to our business. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving, object-oriented programming, and client relation skills.
- Travel domestically and internationally will be required.



- Experience developing end-user applications and interfaces with an object oriented programming language, such as C# or VB for the desktop will also be considered.
- Experience with commercial RDBMS such as SQL Server including:
• designing tables, store procedures, and data flow
• query and performance optimization
- Experience with commercial RDBMS such as SQL Server including:

- Experience working with any of the following development frameworks or tools is an asset
• WinForms
• WMI – MS performance management tool
• Microsoft Sharepoint
• Microsoft Infopath
• SQL Server Reporting Services
• SQL Server Integration Services
• SQL Server Replication
- Experience working with Oil & Gas automation or data acquisition industry is an asset.


- Problem solving using a combination of standard procedures and new approaches for continuous improvement
- An adaptable self-starter with organization, initiative, attention to detail, flexibility, ability to learn, problem-solving, trouble shooting and communication
- A proven commitment to Customer Relationships, Teamwork and Quality
- Exceptional oral and written communications skills

- 3rd or 4th year student working towards to a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science
