Schneider Electric Smart Infrastructure currently has an outstanding opportunity for a motivated individual to assume the role of a Systems Operator in our Austin, Texas location. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to perform troubleshooting and analysis of network system devices and network hardware and software.

Under limited supervision, the eligible candidate will, help maintain, install and administer Toll System implementations mainly in Austin, TX but with some travel to other sites within Texas and out of state;


* Read system schematics, and following specifications to install and implement system components; Monitor and approve installations, including providing direction to contracted vendors
* Provide additional support to facility personnel including computing equipment installation, relocation and repair
* Position will require some travel as required
* Monitors and performs diagnosis of problems involving vehicle loop detection equipment, automatic vehicle ID readers, antennas, RF sources, video cameras, switchers, multiplexers, monitors and frame grabbers on a Network.
* Knowledge and understanding of Windows desktop operating systems.
* Knowledge of server based systems.
* Knowledge of communication protocols.
* Ability to perform troubleshooting and analysis of network system devices and network hardware and software.

Work with team on Installs, modification, and repairs toll systems equipment and related systems

• Read Toll System Plans 
• Installs, upgrades, modifies or replaces equipment as directed or required. 
• Performs a continuous preventative maintenance program according to schedule. 
• Does reactive maintenance and repair as needed. 
• Receive and check in inventory 
• Monitors automatic trouble reporting system to ensure timely problem resolution in accordance with guidelines
• Monitors repairs for timely completion and submits approval documents to appropriate purchasing personnel for payment
• Provide Response to and correction of trouble reports

Tests toll collection systems through physical inspection and electronic test and measurement equipment procedures. 

• Performs diagnosis of equipment problems with: lane control servers and computers, printers, traffic signals, gates, IR beams, light curtains, message signs, scanners, and other toll related equipment. 


- Associates degree in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science
- Or a Certificate from an accredited trade or Military school with 2 years’ experience.
